Your Homeowner Orientation Tour or “HOOT” is the last stop in your home buying journey before moving in. Our superintendent will walk you through the house using our quality assurance checklist and ensure you know how to use all the components of your new home such as the water heater, furnace, utility shutoffs, fireplace etc. Your home closing will take place 4-5 business days after the HOOT.
Please note: If you plan on having a home inspection, it must be performed by a licensed and bonded professional home inspector and the report must be delivered to MonteVista 24 hours prior to the Hoot meeting per Addendum A of your real estate agreement.
Our goal is to ensure that you are ultimately satisfied with your new homes and your experience with MonteVista. That you feel comfortable with the details of your new home and know who to contact in case there is an issue. Once you have moved in, please use our Warranty Portal to schedule any maintenance calls within your one year limited warranty.
We recommend that you give yourself a couple week padding when scheduling moving trucks and giving notice at your current residence. On rare occasions, unexpected delays with city inspections, utility companies and finish suppliers have occurred.
