The City of Umatilla sits at the confluence of the Columbia and Umatilla Rivers. The natural beauty of eastern Oregon has been carved and sculpted by the Columbia River.  The abundance of water and hydroelectric power is shaping the development of the city with the expansion of data centers.  Affordable home prices, Job growth, fishing, water recreation, parks and a central location for transportation has made Umatilla one of the fastest growing cities in Oregon. Umatilla has become a distinct city with a unique sense of place for local residents. Preserving and enhancing natural beauty, while also embracing the rich heritage of the city, distinguishes Umatilla as the city brimming with opportunity.  The Columbia basin is one of the world’s leading Agriculture regions with a long growing season and perfect climate for local crops, wineries, and vegetables and fruits. In October 1805, Lewis and Clark Canoed down the Columbia toward the Pacific. In doing so, they were able to record many of the sites, and populations along their route.  Archeological digs have shown that the banks of the river in the region around Umatilla had been an historic settlement for centuries. New Homes in Umatilla Oregon -  McClannahan Summit will soon be available.   Fun Fact: The word "Umatilla" is Native American, and is translated as "rippling waters". Umatilla (the city) was named after the Umatilla River.
